I've tried both, NFS and CIFS share.
There is also no section in first menu item "Favorites" for Media Player favorites

It is possible in the current version to make (samba) shortcuts as favorites. (both open and password protected shares)
This makes it possible to go from the media player directly to the shortcut without the need of a network scan which can take some time.

The shortcuts work fine for Samba, the code should be able to do the same for NFS shares.
However, I have never tested it and there might be something missing. Like perhaps loading the NFS drivers too late or an assumption the shortcut is Samba based while it should test for Samba/NFS..

Did you try to make a favorite from a Samba and a NFS share?

I will take a look into this. Thanks for the remarks.
If you have more ideas (doable or not does not matter) anything is welcome.

 

 

 

Would be nice if it would be possible to favorite a folder on a NFS share.
"Favorites -> MyFavoriteFolder" would be easer to navigate than "Media Player -> NFS -> server -> share -> MyFavoriteFolder"
