Topic: Help! I think I have broken it :-(

The hanging issue is one of the things that is mostly fixed in version 1.4... it will be available real soon...

Thanks people!
After much faffing about, changing settings on everything and anything, I managed to get it to work (yay!!!) when I changed the security settings on my router to WPA2.  I am not sure if it was just that alone, or if it was due to changing anything else.  But each time I made any changes, I re-booted the device etc etc - but it was only after that particular change that it finally connected.  I spent ages trying to get it to work, to the point where I wanted to throw it out the window, but I refused to let it beat me!!
However, although it lists a countless amount of stations, it only lets me connect to a few for some reason, and I eventually lost patience after the unit just kept hanging, resulting in me having to reboot it over and over again.  So I am hoping that the next update may go some way to resolving that, as I have noticed on here that others have said something similar....

Hi,marleyd

Maybe that is your router's problem, maybe turn off and reboot your router or do a factory reset,or change another router/AP for check.good luck!

Thank you William, I shall wait eagerly, with my fingers crossed!!

There are some restrictions. Like SSID's with spaces are not supported at the moment.
Next firmware release will be in a few days. it has some improvements on the Wifi side.

Thank your for you help William,
I have done all of that, but still no joy.  It does see the access point, but won't connect...

When you scan for Wifi networks, does it find your Access Point?

Another option is to use the failsafe.

Failsafe is triggered by inserting an SD card that contains a file with the name "fs_fwrec".

File can be anything you like, empty, word document, pdf etc. as long as the filename is correct. Note that it should not have an extension either. Just "fs_fwrec" (which stands for failsafe firmware recovery)

Insert the SD with this file on it. then turn on the device.
It will see the file and start the failsafe mode and give you a text screen about firmware flashing.
then remove the SD and reboot the device. You dont need to reinstall the firmware.

When failsafe is triggered, it believes something is wrong with your system and it removes the config.ini and w.conf files from your system.
These two files hold your standard settings as well as the network settings.

Then reboot the device, scna for wifi network. When found, type in the password and connect.

If it connected, fine.. if it failed and you are sure the password was right, it might have timned out. Tun off the device and reboot again. See if it makes the connection by itself now.

Hi,
I have tried that.  I have also done a factory reset.  I am at work now, and have brought the radio here just in case it was something to do with my router, but it still won't connect.
It does see the available networks but just stays on "connecting" for ages, then changes to "not connected".
It has baffled me because it did work initially, and then it suddenly just stopped, and I can't understand why?
When I had it working, I have to say, it is absolutely fantastic, and I commend you for all your work, thank you!!

You can erase the network settings and enter your wifi details again. that might help.

Thank you!!  Okay, I done that and was a very happy bunny because of all the extra features this firmware has brought....
I was having a play around with it, and it managed to get Shoutcast....
But then it seemed to just stop, and now it won't connect to my network.
I have done just about everything I can think of to try to connect it, but it just ain't happening!!!
Any ideas???

The firmware update has two parts.
Fitst part is to install the loader.
The loader presents itself as failsafe and has à textscreen only.
From there you install the listenlive firmware.

Hi all,
I have a Disgo TVgo which I bought from Argos.... couldn't get shoutcast to work at all, and there was limited funtionality on the TV.  Me being a bit of a medler, and never being happy, decided to upgrade the firmware.  I applied the update from the Disgo website - followed the instructions etc, but nothing actually changed, and I don't think it did anything at all.
So, then I found the one on here.... again, followed the instructions.... and my initial thoughts were "yay, it is updating", but then when it rebooted, it has gone into failsafe mode.  I press okay to load the firmware image, but then it tells me the "Error:  Firmware update not found.  Rebooting in 10 seconds", and goes back to the same failsafe mode.
Ooooh dear, have I ruined it?  Can anyone help me please?
Eternally grateful in advance.....
